Team story

Jean de Rauglaudre (CEO)

It's been a long time since I wanted to create my own company. When I was young (~15-20 y.o.) I was trying to make some business from everything (playing organ for weddings, selling old stuffs from my parents...)

When I started my journey at HEC Paris, I decided to focus on entrepreneurship: I worked for Kerala Ventures and few young startups, I supported a launch of a service company in Morocco. I also worked as a freelancer (first missions from Crème de la Crème) to do business on my own (leveraging a few learnings from Digital Marketing & Scripting thanks to 42 school).

After experiencing 2.5 years of agency (#McKinsey), I decided to start a true adventure. My fascinating experiences around freelancing, service consulting, procurement were a very good start to chose my playground... So I reached out to my "business friend" Vianney to discuss the next steps.

Vianney de Drouas (COO)

I've always been an entrepreneur and had many different side projects (one of them with Jean, who I met during our studies) and an appetite for tech. When I went to business school, I chose to specialise in finance because I felt it was a field where a lot of hard skills were required and I wanted to master them.

I then did an internship in a M&A large cap boutique where I reached two conclusion: first, i wanted this level of strategy exposure and second, i would not work in an investment bank ever again. Because I was a tech enthusiast, I logically joined the startup world where I found a fascinating environment: everything was to build and no one prevented you from doing what you wanted as long as it served the business. I spent great years building products and managing operations at Younited Credit, a France-based fintech and then decided to launch Collective with Jean.

At collective, we believe we can create a form of work which combines the freedom and autonomy people look for when choosing to be freelancers with the satisfaction, security and opportunities generated by the fact of working in a team.

Paul Vidal (CTO)

After meeting many founders during my childhood, I quickly decided to orientate myself towards entrepreneurship. It became a life goal! For this reason, I specialized in Computer Science with Mathematics at Imperial College, to rely on no one to launch products. I had the opportunity during university time to launch with friends many small and quite successful products, which only increased my love for entrepreneurship. During and after university, I decided I always wanted to work for scale-ups to understand better the startup world, especially at scale. I had the opportunity to learn from the best as a software engineer at Blablacar, Skyscanner, and finally Datadog where I spent my last three years. Keeping entrepreneurship in mind, I touched as an engineer on as many sectors as possible, doing respectively mobile, frontend, backend, data engineering, and DevOps. At the same time as I felt ready, I had the cross path with Jean...
